Webinars: Dr. Jansie van Rensburg

Dr Van Rensburg obtained his degree in dentistry at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1980 and has been in general practice since. He has also completed a two year extended course in Orthodontics which included a clinical attachment position at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings, East Sussex. Dr Van Rensburg has lectured since 2004 at numerous International and National Dental Congresses, Study Group Meetings, BDA (British Dental Association) meetings, post graduate centres throughout the UK, Europe, South Africa and India. Dr Van Rensburg has developed a wealth of experience in fibre reinforced composite and normal composite restorations clinically in the surgery and also lecturing extensively on this topic.

Latest innovations to make everyday dentistry easier 2 – Minimally invasive extractions

A practical lecture about modern tools and techniques for minimally invasive extractions as a pre-condition of all recontruction especially direct implant. Fibre-reinforced composites and isolation techniques. Improvements in equipment and materials are key factors in providing the clinician and the patient with new minimally invasive choices. Traditional tooth removal techniques have changed as the clinician now aim to do as little as possible damage to the alveolar bone and soft tissues. Implant reconstruction should always be kept in mind when a tooth is removed. Join Dr van Rensburg for this webinar as he will take you through different methods of doing an “atraumatic extraction”.

The lecture is practical, packed with interesting slides and clinical cases presented by a” wet-fingered” dentist.

Latest innovations to make everyday dentistry easier 1 – Minimally invasive extractions

A practical lecture about modern tools and techniques for minimally invasive restorative dentistry. Posterior and anterior chairside restorations, diastema closures, fiber reinforced composites. Improvements in equipment, materials and bonding techniques are key factors in providing the clinician and the patient with new minimally invasive choices. Join Dr van Rensburg for this webinar as he takes you through the following current subjects:

- Fibre reinforced composites (focusing on chair-side construction of restorations)
- Rubber dam isolation with the unique DryDam and other isolation techniques
- Semi-direct closure of diastema using a charside manufactures die silicone model
- Matrix systems for posterior composites
- Many other useful tips and tricks.
- The carefully designed Fender range of matrixes will assist the clinician to place a predictable composite restoration without a proximal overhang and will ensure a tight proximal contact between the restoration and the adjacent tooth.
- The lecture is practical, packed with interesting slides and clinical cases presented by a” wet-fingered” dentist.

Latest innovations to make everyday dentistry easier

Improvements in equipment, materials and bonding techniques are key factors in providing the clinician and the patient with new minimally invasive choices. Join Dr van Rensburg for this webinar as he will take you through very relevant subjects like Fibre reinforced composite, the Luxator extraction instruments, Rubber dam isolation with the unique Dry-Dam, matrix systems for posterior composites and many other useful tips and tricks. The carefully designed Fender range of matrixes  will assist the clinician to place a predictable composite restoration without a proximal overhang and will ensure a tight proximal contact between the restoration and the adjacent tooth. The importance of pre-separation and the protection of the adjacent tooth while drilling as well as a new technique for composite restorations in the very problematic sub-gingival cavities will also be  discussed.

Composites (including Fibre reinforced Composites),
Matrix Systems and Rubber Dam

Improvements in equipment and materials are key factors in providing the clinician and the patient with new minimally invasive choices. This webinar will take you through very relevant subjects like Fibre reinforced composite, the unique Dry-Dam, different matrix systems with extra focus on the FenderWedge & FenderMate system for posterior composites. The Fender range is a relatively new type of sectional matrix system. This innovative system allows for an adjacent wedge and protecting shield to be used in order to safeguard both the teeth and the gingiva when preparing and drilling the affected tooth. Different systems to produce quick, easy and highly predictable results will be discussed and many other useful tips and tricks will be covered.

By the end of the course delegates should have a good knowledge of:

- Composite restorations with a difference – alternative uses for composites
- Different matrix systems & how to overcome the big problem of open inter-proximal contacts and “food trapping” and at the same time also achieve a good marginal seal.
- How the correct matrix system can assist you when doing posterior composites.
- The importance of rubber dam in obtaining safer and more predictable treatment outcomes in adhesive dentistry and endodontics.
- The “gum shade” (pienk composites) –where and when to use them.

Stress-Free Extractions for You and Your Patient

It is important to do an extraction with as little damage as possible to both the hard and soft tissue. The amount of alveolar bone left intact after the extraction will play a significant role in the long term prognosis of an implant. An overview of different extraction instruments will be covered. Extra focus will be put on the usage of Luxator periotomes, both manual and mechanical (Luxator LX), to provide both the dentist and the patient with a more predictable and gentle extraction procedure. In this webinar, Dr van Rensburg will share useful tips and tricks gathered during his 40 years of involvement in dentistry and private practice.

- Delegates will learn different techniques which will help them to do minimally-invasive , safe and predictable extractions.
- Delegates will learn how to use the popular Luxator instuments correctly when doing an extraction.
- Delegates will learn practical guidelines when planning for an extraction.
- Tips and tricks in dentistry will be shared.
